Kudankulam plant is safe


The Kundankulam project work has been stoped last month because of strike. The villagers fear for their safety in case of a nuclear accident.

The nuclear plant, built by the NPCIL ( Nuclear Power Corp of India Ltd) with Russian has generating two reactor units. The first unit is expected to go in December.

      -->  The project is estimated to cost around Rs.13,160 crore. ($2.6 billion)



Kalam visited the plant and said who have doubt regarding the safety can meet him and get cleared about it. He told that Nuclear energy like hydroelectricity and solar energy is safe and clean. He also told that our nation have less power and i am absolutely confident about its safety.

     >   The work station is 1300Km away from the seismic centre point and so there is no afraid of Tsunami.

     >   If generator fails there is automatic cooling of the plant and also have double wall protection for workers inside and outside. Kalam said the workers are 100 per cent safe.

     >   Kalam said the flush core melt waste will clean up by "Bath Tub" facility . It will take care of  all  radiation problems.

     >    He was also sure that there would be no damage to the surrounding environment.
